Chad Gilbert grew up in the "Football Capital of the South" watching games (and dodging stray gunfire) at Birmingham's Legion Field. His claims to athletic fame are stealing home in a little league game and almost coming to blows with Ed Orgeron before an Ole Miss/Alabama contest in 2007. To Chad's benefit, only words - and not fists - were exchanged. He now resides in Memphis, where he can be found binge-eating babyback ribs and accosting hapless Conference USA fans. His middle name is Bryant, because his parents found out they were expecting him the day the Bear died. It's been all downhill since then. You can follow him on Twitter here: @chadgilbert64 |

Clay Travis is a former columnist for CBSSports.com and FanHouse and a former editor for Deadspin. He has written two-bestselling books, Dixieland Delight and On Rocky Top, and one international bestseller -- in England, seriously -- Man: The Book. He co-hosts a daily radio show, 3 Hour Lunch, on Nashville's 104.5 the Zone from 3-6 central. A former attorney who realized that practicing law full time was miserable, Travis likes pink dolphins, beards, people who email him "your gay", and giving subtle nods in the direction of other men who have outkicked their coverage. He hopes this site makes your day more enjoyable. And for the clients who will be paying for their lawyers reading time, condolences. He can be reached with your inevitable hate mail at clay.travis@gmail.com |
Matthew Pierce was conceived in 1865 when a bolt of lightning hit Green Mountain in North Alabama at the exact moment a regiment of Creek Indian Confederate soldiers were chasing what they thought were Yankee pickets. There weren’t any Yankees on Green Mountain that day: It was a bear. But it was a big bear. |

Meredith Hornsby was raised an Auburn fan, got a full scholarship to Tennessee, but graduated from Alabama because it's the one place no one wanted her to go. A self-proclaimed "former cleat chaser," she is married to Jonathan, who never quite made the 1982-1989 local Little League All-Star teams. She is the mother of 1 and a half girls, and is raising them to be the epitome of sundress wearing, pompom shaking, houndstooth accessory stylin' Bama fans. In addition to UA football, Meredith enjoys most other sports, stadium food, and strange mascots. She strongly dislikes Kurt Busch, drunken frat boys, and the Yankees. She also enjoys macaroni.
